COLLABORATION

What an awesome opportunity to have the world's best hospital and amazing public education institutions like the University of Minnesota invest in our community. It has always been my focus to find creative ways to partner and build our infrastructure and increase accessible transit and more affordable housing.

Collaboration and partnership are essential as our city continues to grow. With open minds more opportunities will arise to allow for partnerships in essential city and environmental projects. As a schoolteacher, I have been an advocate for mental health and people of all abilities. I know firsthand the need for increased places of belonging for youth, seniors and all residents with special needs.

In addition to working with public, private, and non-profits to help invest in essential transit and infrastructure developments projects, I feel there is a wonderful opportunity to grow more places of social connection in our city. I have been a strong supporter and advocate of our library, parks, and places fostering community connection. Hopefully, with this anticipated growth and expansion the next few years, City Council can partner with organizations to create projects that promote mental health and build community.

Some additional ideas could also be a new medical or children's museum, youth and young adult facilities (like roller rink/dance club), a community cultural center, senior friendly amenities (like a jazz club), and support for increased accessible, safe, and affordable childcare facilities. This is an amazing opportunity to reach out and work together with public/private collaboration to help fund projects that ensure residents have an equitable, inclusive, fun, and welcoming place to call home.
